ALTODOR-CV

This composition consists of cefixime and clavulanic acid which works by stopping the growth of the bacteria.
Clavulanic acid enhances the activity of the cefixime against bacteria.

Cefixime is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It belongs to the third-generation antibiotic. It is highly stable and resistance to beta lactamase enzymes.
It causes the inhibition of mucopeptides synthesis which helps in the cell wall synthesis.

Clavulanic acid is a beta lactamase inhibitor. It prevents the antibiotics damage from the beta lactamase enzyme.

  • Urinary tract infection
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Otitis media
  • In bone joint Infections
  • Sinusitis

Mechanism of Action-

Cefixime inhibits the peptidoglycan which is responsible for bacterial cell wall cross linking and then synthesis.
Clavulanic acid contains beta lactamase ring which binds with beta lactamases and inactivate them.
