Deflazacort falls under the class of corticosteroid and is exist in the form of prodrug. It helps to delay the complications arises due to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

This disease occurs due to the mutations in the dystrophin gene this gene encodes for muscle function thus mutations in the gene results in the weakness of the muscles and progressive cardiovascular disability.

Mechanism of action-

It is firstly converted into its metabolite and then it actively bound to the glucocorticoid receptors and exerts anti-inflammatory or immunosuppressive effects.
