Deflazacort is a corticosteroid and is used for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Deflazacort delays all the complications of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
It has lesser side effects then other corticosteroids.


It is used in the treatment of Duchenne muscular Dystrophy

Mechanism of Action-

Deflazacort is converted into 21- deflazacort which binds to the glucocorticoid receptor to exert anti-inflammatory action and immunosuppressive effects.

Absorption- It is absorbed orally
Protein Binding- It is 40% bound to plasma proteins
Metabolism- It is metabolized in the liver
Excretion- It is excreted via urine
