The composition consists of levocetirizine and Ambroxal is used to treat asthma. It loosens and thins the mucus. also it relieves the symptoms of allergy such as running nose, watery eyes and sneezing.



Levocetirizine belongs to the H1antagonist. It is used for the treatment of allergic symptoms.
It has longer duration of action.

Ambroxal is secretolytic agent and is used to the treatment of respiratory tract infections. It prevents the adhesion of mucus to the bronchial wall

  • Chronic idiopathic urticaria
  • Perennial allergic rhinitis

Mechanism of Action-

Levocetirizine prevents the smooth muscle contraction and increased vascular permeability of vascular endothelium and histidine uptake by inhibiting the H1 receptors.

Ambroxal supress the release of NO which further inhibits the guanylate cyclase which further inhibits the mucus secretion.

It is absorbed orally
It is 96% bound to plasma proteins
It is poorly metabolized by the liver
It is excreted unchanged in urine

Ambroxal-
It is absorbed rapidly
It is 90% bound to plasma proteins
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Heartburn
  • Dysgeusia
  • Dyspepsia
  • Contraindicated in people with known hypersensitivity
  • Contraindicated in renal impairment
  • It is used cautiously in predisposing urinary retention.
