TURBLOX OINT

This composition is used mainly to treat skin infections that is caused by certain bacteria and fungi. They work by preventing the growth fungi and prevents the production of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins, unable them to reproduce and repair.

Ofloxacin is broad spectrum antibiotic and is belongs to the class of fluroquinolones.

Ornidazole is 5-nitroimidazole class which is used to treat anaerobic bacterial infection. It has various other activities such as anti-protozoal and anti-infective properties.

Terbinafine belongs to the class of allylamine which falls under the category of antifungal drugs.

Clobetasol propionate exist in salt form and is known as synthetic corticosteroid having anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic and vasoconstrictive action.

  • In skin infections
Ofloxacin binds to the enzyme dNA gyrase and thus blocks the dNA replication mediated by dNA gyrase. also, it prevents the supercoiling of the dNA.
Ornidazole reduces to nitro group and produces toxic derivatives or free radicals. these free radicals exert antibacterial action.
Terbinafine inhibits the enzyme squalene monoxidase which further inhibits the conversion of squalene because squalene involves in the synthesis of fungal cell wall.
Clobetasol propionate leads to the activation of the glucocorticoid receptors and then the activated receptors mediate gene expression.
