VAREB-LS


This composition contains rabeprazole and levosulpride is used together because it lowers the gastric acid secretion and increases the movement of stomach or intestine. they help to treat the acid related indigestion.

Rabeprazole is known as proton pump inhibitor which is prodrug before administration and only got activated after reaching to the acidic environment.

Levosulpride belongs to dopamine receptor antagonist. It is used as antidepressants and antipsychotic and as digestive disorder. It has no effect on norepinephrine, acetylcholine, Serotonin, histamine or on gamma amino butyric acid.

Mechanism of action-

Rabeprazole sodium inhibits the H+K+ATPase pump present on the surface of parietal cell and thus inhibit the gastric acid secretion.
Levosulpride blocks both D1 and D2receptors and it selectively blocks the d2 receptors.
