VEEDINE-M Ointment

This composition contains povidone iodine, metronidazole, aloe vera which is used to treat infections. they work by killing the bacteria and causes damage to the dNA. It prevents the growth of microorganisms. wound repairing is complex process manifested by different cells and growth factors.

Povidone Iodine is complex of polyvinylpyrrolidone and has both antibacterial and disinfectant action. it has strong affinity towards staphylococcus aureus, Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

Metronidazole belongs to the nitroimidazole class and has activity against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa.

Aloe vera is herb which contains aloin and belongs to the anthraquinone and has laxative property. Also it inhibits the certain bacteria that is responsible for causing infections.

Mechanism of action-

Iodine is released from them the complex and penetrate into the cell membrane, damages the proteins and nucleic acid structure.
Metronidazole binds to the Deoxyribonucleic acid or electron transport process of proteins thus blocks nucleic acid synthesis, Metronidazole exerts its activity when its nitro group reduced to nitro radicals.
